According to Western Illinois Animal Rescue Board Member John Kennedy, the organization is continuing to celebrate a major milestone:

“It has been 25 years since Dan Porter started this venture, or adventure, out of his garage at the body shop. The organization has come a long way. There has been a lot of volunteers, board members, and community members that have contributed to taking it from there when Dan started it, to where we are at now. Our job right now is to make sure everything is locked down and it can continue for another 25 years.”

In continuing the 25-year celebration and raising funds for the rescue, the annual Western Illinois Animal Rescue Putts Fur Paws Golf Tournament will take place Saturday, May 9th at the Twin Oaks Golf Course in Blandinsville with a shotgun start at 9 am.
