United Way of West-Central Illinois has expanded and have wrapped up their first round of allocations this year. This first round of allocations has been able to distribute $331,000 across four counties including Henderson, Knox, Mercer and Warren counties. Some of these allocations include the Jamieson Community Center, Helping Hands Food Pantry, and the Volunteer Network on Aging. Executive Director Jeannie Weber tells us more information:
“Jamieson Community Center received $50,000 from us. Which is almost the entire match that the State of Illinois. They have to provide a match for the State of Illinois to provide funding for the Senior Meals program, So because of United Ways donation, they are able to deliver senior meals for in three counties.”
