Chris Horsford, 67, of Knoxville, died at 2:17 a.m. Wednesday, July 8, 2026, in OSF St. Mary Medical Center.

She was born December 9, 1958, in Davenport, Iowa, the daughter of Jack L. and Mildred I. (Fry) Huber. She married Thomas Wayne Horsford on May 15, 1995, in Las Vegas, Nevada. He preceded her in death on February 13, 2004.

She is survived by her children, Rita (Mark) Sandman, Jessica De La Cruz, Christina (Mark) Pacheco, Anna Linares, Jesus De La Cruz, Rebecca (Michael) Knox, Sean (Patricia) Wright, and Brittany (Cody) Brown; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; brothers, Jackson Huber, Roy (Suzie) Huber, and Frank Huber; sister, Shelly (Dale) Huber; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; great grandsons, Samuel Hillier and King De La Cruz; brothers, Gary Huber and Joseph Huber; and sisters, Rose Flynn and Carol Klinebough.

Chris lived in Las Vegas for many years. There she worked at the Skyline Casino from 1992 to 2004. After returning to this area, she worked at Galesburg Cottage Hospital in housekeeping for 11 years before retiring.

Chris enjoyed playing Mahjong on her phone. She was known for being an excellent cook and baker. But most meaningful to Chris was spending time with her many grandkids.

Cremation will be accorded. A celebration of life will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 11, 2026, at the Abingdon Community Center, 801 W. Martin St. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral and Cremation Services is honored to assist the family with cremation arrangements. Online condolences and memories may be shared at www.h-p-w.com.
