KCAP Looks to Key Industries for Future Growth

Share

Knox County Area Partnership is looking at a few key industries to help drive future growth across the region.

President Ken Springer shares where he sees those opportunities.

“I look at our big traded sectors, transportation, warehousing, and logistics. The rail is one of the things that makes our community unique. I think that’s kind of an evergreen growth industry for us. Food processing is absolutely critical. Food processing has just been growing hand over fist for 20 years. I think there are really good opportunities because of our transportation network, because we are producing feedstocks, and because you can reach two-thirds of the United States by truck from our area. Food processing is another major growth industry for us.”

Springer says agriculture, healthcare, and manufacturing are also areas KCAP will continue to focus on.
