The City of Galesburg has scheduled an open house Public Information Meeting to present the proposed improvements to East Main Street in the City of Galesburg. The limits of the project will extend from the intersection of East Main Street and Grand Avenue to the jurisdictional limits on the west side of the I-74 on and off ramps.
The Public Information Meeting is being held in an open house format, which means that interested citizens can attend any time that is convenient from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The meeting is accessible to individuals with special needs.
Citizens are encouraged to view the exhibits, provide comments, and ask questions about the project. The meeting will address topics including the need for the project, conceptual design, planned partial lane closures, right-of-way acquisition information, and the tentative project schedule. Temporary construction easements will be required for the construction. City staff and members of the consultant team will be available to answer questions.
The purpose of the project is to provide roadway improvements as well as upgrades to existing pedestrian infrastructure and accessibility.
