The Monmouth College men’s and women’s cross country teams are getting closer to the start of their 2026 season.

The Scots will bring back a more experienced group this fall, while also adding a strong class of newcomers, shares Head Coach Cooper Pauley.

“I’m in my third year here. We’ve got a good group of newcomers and freshmen coming in. Something we’re really excited about is the more upperclassmen-dominant group that we have. The last couple of years, we’ve definitely been a little bit younger. That’s good for multiple reasons. Obviously, some people have been with our program for multiple years, and that’s very helpful. Then, with that talented group coming in as well, we’re really excited.”

The women are coming off a sixth-place finish at last year’s Midwest Conference Championship, while the men finished eighth.

The Scots will open their season September 4th at the Bob Schultz Invitational on the Loras College campus. For more information, check out monmouthscots.com.
