The Monmouth College Fighting Scots volleyball squad is just about two months away from kicking off their 2026 season.

Last year, the Scots put together a solid campaign, finishing 12-14 overall and 6-2 in Midwest Conference play. That was enough to earn a spot in the MWC Tournament, where Monmouth fell to Lawrence in the semifinal round.

The Scots are heading into year two under Head Coach Hope Neargarder, who previously made stops at Northland as head coach, Wilmington College in Ohio as an assistant, and MWC foe Illinois College as an assistant before coming to Monmouth.

Coach Neargarder says she is excited to get year two started.

“I’ve been in the MWC as an assistant at IC, so coming back into this as a head coach was super exciting. Super excited about the fall. We’re bringing in fourteen new incoming kids, thirteen freshmen and one transfer. We bring back a really strong core of eight returners, so really excited to get them back in the gym in August.”

The Scots will begin practice in August before kicking off their season in early September.
