High school football is almost here, and excitement is building around the United Red Storm as they prepare to open their third season under Head Coach Andrew Goodwin.
United got in some work during a joint practice last week at Monmouth College as the Red Storm continue getting ready for the upcoming season.
Goodwin says the Red Storm have plenty to build around heading into the season.
“We return a lot. I’m excited. The kids are excited. It’s just a really good time to be here. It’s a core group that we’ve had for two years. We’ve got 90 percent of the offense coming back and 70 percent of the defense coming back, production-wise. I’m really excited to see the kids who started as sophomores when I got here take that leadership role and move into the next steps of turning this program around.”
The Red Storm officially begin practice next Monday before opening the season August 21st at Bureau Valley. United will be looking for its first playoff appearance since the 2021 season.
