With the start of another school year just days and weeks away, Monmouth Police Chief Joe Switzer is reminding motorists to use extra caution behind the wheel:
“School is going to be starting. There are going to be a lot of kids in the morning on the sidewalks and possibly in the streets, a lot of traffic around the schools. Lincoln has redone their circle drive, so that will be a little change. That was an effort to make it safer for the kids, obviously, going into the building and out of the building. There will be a lot of foot traffic out and about. If you are driving down the street pay attention, that is the biggest thing.”
Locally, students return to the classroom in the United School District on Wednesday, August 12th and the Monmouth-Roseville School District on Wednesday, August 19th.
