A number of improvement projects have advanced throughout the City of Monmouth this summer, according to Operations Director Ken Helms:
“At the Buchanan Center for the Arts, renovations of the third floor has started and will include the construction of an elevator. 113 West 1st Avenue, that is the renovation where they are doing the apartments up above and that continues with casing out the interior windows and tuck pointing. One of our industrial businesses in town, Midwest Pet Foods, they are constructing a new 70’ x 220’warehouse storage,” says Helms.
“I think everyone has seen the demolition that Monmouth College is doing, that is starting to get close to being done at the frat house, they are working on footings right now. Lastly, RP Lumber has started constructing their outdoor wood storage area,” Helms adds.
Additionally, the Monmouth City Council has approved an ordinance amendment to allow for the issuance of a packaged liquor license to a resident seeking to open a location on North Main Street.
