Mrs. Gloria A. Gowler, 77, of Galesburg, Illinois, died at 1:15 p.m. Monday, August 24, 2026, at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born April 3, 1949, in Galesburg, Illinois, the daughter of Edward E. and Evelyn A. (Bundy) Qualls, Sr. She married Jack Gowler on November 19, 1977, in Wataga, Illinois.
Surviving are two sons, Brett Charles of Galesburg and Dallas Charles of East Galesburg; one daughter, Christie Bramlett of Galesburg; one brother, Edward (Roberta) Qualls, Jr. of Davenport, Iowa; four grandchildren, Preston Charles, Chance Charles, Syrus Charles, and Brittany (Devon) Gentry; and three great-grandchildren, Brelynn Charles, Corbin Gentry, and Rylynn Gentry.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Bret Allen Charles; and one sister, Joyce Elaine Qualls.
Gloria graduated from Galesburg High School in 1967. She worked at Maytag Manufacturing and later at Spoon River Mental Health Center, both in Galesburg.
Gloria enjoyed using her crochet talents to make a variety of items. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family, especially her children and grandchildren.
As Gloria requested, cremation will be accorded. No services are planned. Memorials may be made to the family.
