As motorists make their way around the county, Warren County Sheriff Martin Edwards is reminding drivers that cellphone use behind the wheel is prohibited:

“I think it is kind of underreported how many accidents are caused by the use of cellphones. When you are in that car, behind the wheel, it is in gear, you are on the street, you don’t use a cellphone no matter what, unless it is hands free. Stopping at a stop light is not an excuse to get out the phone and start texting away. That will get you a ticket as well. When you are driving, you are driving.”
