We love to see the impact that volunteering has on our community. The Central Warren County Fire Protection District is an example of something that continues to make our community better. Payton Crain discusses more about the Central Warren Fire Department.

“So, we are a volunteer fire department that covers Kirkwood and Cameron. We got about 15 members between the two sides, two captains on each side and an assistant chief, and a district chief overseeing everyone. Our district chief is Justin Taylor, and then the captains on the Kirkwood side is me and Jessica Taylor, then on Cameron side is Wes Talley and Trevor Davies, and then Cameron’s Assistant Chief is Tracey Vollbracht and on the Kirkwood, side is Jeremy Teel. We get called out, it feels like at least once or twice a week, and maybe sometimes more. I mean, we average close to 300 calls a year, and that’s a lot for a volunteer fire department. We’re always looking for people, I mean there is no limit of how many people we’ll take. You don’t have to know much about, you can just come in and say you’re interested and join up.”
