The West Central Heat football team is coming off a successful 2025 season, ending at (7-3). The year was book-ended by an opening week loss to a quality West Carroll squad 42-0 and ended with a first round playoff loss to West Carroll 42-8. In between those two contests, the Heat were (7-1). Much of the success in 2025 was done with underclassmen in starting roles and several skill position players will be returning this fall. Head Coach Jason Kirby is entering his 11th season at West Central and 28th season overall as a high school football head coach. He’s excited to continue the success his younger players started last season.
West Central will open their 2026 season at home on Friday against the Flanagan/Cornell/Woodland co-op. The Heat won a shootout against FCW last season 40-32 on the strength of Aidan Garner’s 238 rushing yards and 3 touchdowns. Kickoff is set for 7:00.
