Downtown Monmouth has been home to one local business for over 100 years at 95 Public Square and that business will continue with a new name. Kellogg Printing is under new ownership and retiring owner Buster Kellogg says, “It’s been a great ride”:

“It has been a great ride. I can’t tell you how much I have enjoyed it and how much I really hated to let go. My family has been there, starting with my grandfather in 1924. My dad actually bought the business in 1955. I took over from him in 2000,” shares Kellogg.

Mayor Rod Davies presented Buster with a plaque commemorating his service to the community of Monmouth:

“We have a plaque that says ‘Buster Kellogg in recognition of your many years as a true corner stone of our community through Kellogg Printing Company since 1924. You and your company have been a steady, dependable presence, providing quality design printing and mailing services that have supported generations of local families, businesses, and organizations. Thank you for your hard work, reliability, and real commitment to making Monmouth better. With sincere appreciation, the City of Monmouth,’” Davies states.

Royal Printing purchased Kellogg Printing in August and has also been a long-standing staple of the Quincy, Illinois community by getting their start back in 1912. Today, they own local printing companies in Wood River, Quincy, Macomb and Burlington in addition to being a part of the Monmouth community.
