Carol M. Taylor, 63, of Bushnell, IL, passed away on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria, IL.
She was born on May 28, 1963, in Monmouth, IL, the daughter of Lawrence, Sr. and Nancy (Smith) Taylor. Carol was raised and educated in Warren County and graduated from Yorkwood High School in 1981. She later earned her accounting degree at Carl Sandburg College, Galesburg, IL.
Carol was a homemaker, who took great joy in caring for all she called family. She loved crafting and sharing those crafts with friends and family. Carol was an avid baker whose cookies were the centerpiece of every Christmas celebration. She also enjoyed traveling and taking in all the scenery the country had to offer.
Surviving Carol is her mother, Nancy Taylor- Mahaffey of Bushnell, IL; her son, Micheal Taylor of Monmouth, IL; her siblings, Patty Fox of Kirkwood, IL, Larry (Cheryl) Taylor of Zachary, LA, LeRoy Taylor of Monmouth, IL, Tammy Myers of Bushnell, IL, Oliver Taylor; Special nieces and nephews, Eric Leonard, Brittany McHenry, Steven (Brandy) McHenry III, Tiffany (Devin) Clemons; Special great nieces and nephews, Lucy Leonard, Scarlytt Leonard, Cheyanne McHenry, Jason McHenry, Logan McHenry; several other nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews also survive.
She was preceded in death by her father and one brother, Greg Taylor.
A gathering of family and friends will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Friday, September 18, 2026 at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, IL. Cremation will be accorded following the visitation. Memorials can be made to the Carol Taylor Memorial Fund and can be sent to the funeral home.
