Each week, leading up to the Hall of Achievement Induction Ceremony on Saturday, October 17, the Monmouth-Roseville Education Foundation will be highlighting their 2026 inductees.
Dr. Jason (J.C.) Clark is a 1996 graduate of Monmouth High School. After graduation from high school, Dr. Clark attended Augustana College – Illinois where he majored in Pre-Med/Bio with a minor in Sports Medicine/Athletic training. He graduated summa cum laude in 2000 from Augustana. He then obtained his medical degree at the University of Iowa College of Medicine. As a first-year medical student, he earned the Henry J. Prentiss Award for excellence in dissection after earning the highest grade in the Human Anatomy and Cadaver Dissection Course. During his 3rd year of medical school, he received the Junior Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society award given by faculty to only a few students in each class based on high academic standing, leadership, professionalism, ethics, future promise, and commitment to service. He graduated from medical school with the highest grade point average in his class. Clark then moved south for his orthopedic residency to the University of Florida in Gainesville, FL. While in residency, he was Educational Chief Resident and received the Surgery Resident Teaching Award where he was viewed as an influential teacher and as a resident who demonstrated caring and understanding during doctor-patient relations. At the University of Florida, he was fortunate to work alongside some great mentors in orthopedic sports medicine to learn how to provide elite care to high-level athletes. After residency, Clark did an extra year of specialty training in sports medicine and shoulder surgery at the Steadman-Hawkins Clinic of the Carolinas in Greenville, South Carolina.
Since 2010, J.C. has worked at ORA Orthopedics as an orthopedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine as well as shoulder and knee reconstruction. At ORA, he has served as a Board Member, Medical Director, and on the Peer Review Committee. He has served as Chairman, Department of Surgery at Genesis Silvis Medical Center, and he has also been a peer reviewer and associate editor for orthopedic journals.
In the Quad City community, Dr. Clark volunteers his time as the team doctor for Rock Island-Milan School District 41 and Augustana College – Illinois. He has also been the team doctor for the Quad City Mallards Hockey Team and on the medical staff for the PGA Tour’s John Deere Classic. He has given numerous orthopedic presentations, lectures, and demonstrations to healthcare professionals and residents throughout the QCA.
J.C. attended Garfield Elementary and Central Junior High. His mother Linda, uncle Lonnie, aunt Regina, sister Erika, and cousins Adrienne, Morgan and Meredith all attended Monmouth schools. Jason currently lives in Moline with his wife Cherie and three sons Tyler, Griffin, and Maddox.
