Jacqueline “Jackie” Lemley, 84, of Monmouth, IL, passed away on Wednesday, September 2, 2026 surrounded by her loving family in Monmouth. 

She was born on September 5, 1941 in Metz, France, the daughter of Alfred and Marie (Droin) Marcher.  Jackie was raised and educated in France and was an apprentice seamstress for four years.

Jackie married Bertie “Gene” Lemley on April 18, 1964 in Metz, France.  Gene and Jackie met while Gene was serving in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.  He preceded her in death on July 7, 1999. 

Jackie dedicated 15 years of her life to working in housekeeping at Monmouth Trust and Savings. She later continued her work in housekeeping and laundry at Monmouth Nursing Home. Jackie also spent several years cleaning homes for families in the community.

Jackie was a devoted member of First United Methodist Church in Monmouth for 51 years, where she taught Sunday school for many years. She also generously gave her time volunteering at the Strom Senior Center, where she enjoyed helping others and being part of the community.

In her free time, Jackie loved playing bingo, crocheting, and knitting. She also enjoyed playing games on her phone and computer. Above all, Jackie cherished the time she spent with her family. She especially loved family cookouts, where she could gather with the people she loved most, share good food, laughter, and make lasting memories.

Surviving Jackie are her sons, Garry (Toni Hammond) Lemley of Monmouth, IL, Phillip (Melodie) Lemely of Monmouth, IL, Corey (Nan) Lemley of Fleming, GA; her grandchildren, Cody (Jordan) Lemley, Dustin (Taylor) Lemley, Dereck Lemley, Morgan (Brent) Lemley-Nelson, Jordan Lemley, Josh Jacobs, Erik (Samantha) Klein, Daniel Clark, James Whaley; her great grandchildren, Holly Lemley, Xander Lemley, Alijah Lemley, Maevery Lemley, Henry Lemley, Gia Lemley, Ryker Lemley, Tessa Klein, Jack Klein, Kamryn Klein, Halen Monroe, Melonie Clark, Daniella Clark, Dayna Clark, Natalie Whaley, Rylan Whaley, Alayna Whaley ; and her twin sister, Monique Humphrey of California. 

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
