The desire to experiment, discover new flavors, and recreate restaurant inspired dishes at home has fueled growth across the specialty food industry, exclaims Malley Farms Owner Nikki Malley:
“The Food Network had really grown and people were watching food for entertainment, but then when COVID hit, people were back home. A lot of people who had not spent a lot of time cooking, had to cook, so the specialty food industry exploded. It saw incredible growth because people had time and got curious and didn’t want to eat the same thing every single day. They wanted access to things that they otherwise didn’t. This is exactly the idea of our store,” Malley shares.
“People got creative with their cooking and wanted access to the ingredients that allow them to do those things. Then now, cooking shows have gotten even more popular,” adds Malley.
Malley Farms Small Batch Canning and Specialty Foods is located at 54 South Seminary Street in Galesburg.
