On Saturday, November 7th, the Warren County History Museum will host their Veteran’s Day event, featuring a lecture on Bobby Dunlap and an exhibit focused on World War II, according to Executive Director Dr. Eugene Watkins:
“This year, I have been asked by numerous people to redo my Bobby Dunlap lecture during the anniversary of Iwo Jima. I was able to take an interview that he did in the late 1980’s and a map that he sketched where the events took place and we were able to trace his journey up the side of Iwo Jima up to when he was wounded. So we will talk a little on that and some of the other stuff that he did in the war. As for the rest of the exhibit, we will be focusing on World War II. There will be a lot of the museum’s collection that is out that doesn’t usually get seen. We have a lot of uniforms. We try to identify as many of the veterans as possible and give information.”
The Veteran’s Day event will be held from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm at the Warren County History Museum with the lecture on Bobby Dunlap slated for 11 am, Saturday, November 7th.
