Scott Alan Overton, 65, of Roseville, IL, died Sunday, October 11, 2026 at 3:10pm at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria IL.
He was born September 5, 1961 in La Harpe, IL the son of Donald and Joanne (Doe) Overton.
Scott was a graduate of Southern High School. He was a hardworking man who spent his life doing what he loved most, farming and helping others. Farming wasn’t just a job, but his passion. Scott was the kind of man who would lend a helping hand whenever needed. Scott was a farmer, a hard worker, and a man who loved helping people. He lived a life of purpose, gave more than asked for, and left this world better than he found it.
He is survived by his four siblings, Karen (Rob) Scott of Media, Mark Overton of Stronghurst, Brenda (Dee) Holford of Gladstone and Susan (John) Clough of Griggsville, four nieces/nephews, Eric (Samantha) Scott of Burlington, Jessica (Alex) Gregory of Iowa City, Tayler (Ali) Day of Knoxville, TN and Tim Holford of Gladstone, and four great nieces/nephews, Grace, Gunner, Grady, and Emersyn. He was preceded in death by his parents Donald and Joanne.
Visitation will be from Noon until 1:30 p.m. Saturday, October 17, 2026 at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Stronghurst. A private family graveside will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the Walnut Grove Cemetery, near Media, IL. Please visit Scott’s obituary at banksandbeals.com to leave a condolence.
