Stone-Hayes Center Empowers Local Individuals to Live Independently

Share

Stone-Hayes Center for Independent Living is a nonprofit agency that assists persons with disabilities with locating resources and support they may need to live independently within the community, shares Adult Transition Coordinator Sarah Nelson:

“We assist with hiring Personal Assistants, which we call PA’s, and we are desperately needing PA’s. We have a youth program and they advocate for students needing IEP’s and 504s. We also assist with housing, getting ahold of DHS/DORS and alternatives. We provide group support and life skills training. Also, we are a distributor of ITAC, which is for the hearing impaired. We have amplified phones and that is an easy process. Anyone can make an appointment, they can just come in and see which phone works best for them.”

Stone-Hayes serves individuals in Knox, Warren, and Henderson Counties. For more information on services, contact 309-344-1306.
