October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. OSF HealthCare St. Mary and Holy Family Medical Center President and CEO Lisa DeKezel reminds individuals that yearly screenings and early detection is vital:
“At OSF Holy Family, we do walk-in Wednesdays. Please put it on your calendar, make it a priority. Early detection and getting your screening mammograms, following up if you have any type of history, ensuring that you are getting your follow up exams, is pivotal. October is absolutely Breast Cancer Awareness month. We welcome you to walk-in and certainly if Wednesdays are not a day that work for you, please call us and we will be happy to get you scheduled. Please be sure that you are getting your screenings competed. The earlier we can detect, the better outcome for the patient.”
