Applications for the Jamieson Community Center’s Christmas Store are now being accepted through the day before Thanksgiving. Children ages birth through twelve are served through the program, where parents pay $5 per child to shop, shares Executive Director Nancy Mowen:

“We will do Christmas baskets for families, people can choose one or the other. Every child gets tehir name put on the Angel Tree at Midwest Bank. Then we have the clothing that comes from Kohls. It is all laid out on tables and hanging so parents can go and select an outfit that they think their child will love. Then we have toys, we have blankets, gloves, last year we had a limited selection of coats, and we have books. The Alexis Presbyterian Church collects books for us. Then the Monmouth Rotary Club is collecting socks and underwear.”

In the first two weeks, Director Mowen reports 127 children were registered for this year’s Community Christmas Store.
