Wyatt Earp Birthplace to be Renovated to Original Condition

Share

Renovations are underway to restore the Wyatt Earp Birthplace, a historic landmark located in the Monmouth community. Local entrepreneurs Jason and Jenny Robbins have been working to restore the property to its original condition, saving as much of the original features as possible.

“There is a one-foot by one-foot piece of original wallpaper that is on the wall that we will leave. The wood floors that are in it, we will carefully restore those,” said Jason “We won’t be putting in new materials unless absolutely needed. We’re preserving as much of the plaster in the home as possible. Prior to us, there was some drywall put in in those areas; we will skim coat over that with a plaster product. So we’re trying to keep it as original as possible.”

The property will be available for short-term rentals on Airbnb and VRBO beginning July 1, 2024.
