Ameren Warns Of Increase Online Scams Targeting Customers in Illinois

Share

Ameren is warning its customers in Illinois to be aware of an increase in online scams.  The scammers are developing  fraudulent website listings that mimic the company’s website and include fake contact phone numbers and email addresses.  An individual who uses an Internet search engine to contact an Ameren representative, pay their bill or change service may come across several “legitimate looking” but fake Ameren website listings.  Once the customer calls the fake phone number or clicks on a fake link, they are tricked into thinking they are engaging with an Ameren representative or visiting the company’s official website.
