Terry G. Moore, 71, of Monmouth, IL, passed away at home, in the very house where he was raised, surrounded by his loving wife and three daughters on July 6, 2024 after a brief yet courageous battle with cancer.

Terry was born March 11, 1953 to Willard and Clita Moore. He was a graduate of Yorkwood High School and Western Illinois University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Ag Sciences. He was married to Pamela Larson on September 2, 1973 and enjoyed 50 years of life together.  Terry was known for his career as a farmer and his dedication to his family.

Farming was his life. He was a progressive farmer who was not afraid to try new techniques and to innovate on the farm. At the same time, he was quiet, unassuming, a man of action not words who was particular about how things got done.  Those who knew him well knew that under his mostly stern exterior was someone who sought out fun adventures and loved to laugh.  Terry was a member of Sugar Tree Grove Presbyterian Church where he served as an elder and sat on the Hale Township Board.  Terry and Pam found joy in their free time the last several years traveling and camping across the country.

Terry is survived by his beloved wife, Pam Moore of Monmouth, IL; Three daughters Leslie (Dave) Monahan of Hampton, NJ; Erin (Zac) Harlan of Marion, IA; and Kellie (Brian) Schumacher of Channahon, IL.  Also surviving are his nine adored grandchildren, Corbett & Evie Monahan; Audrie, Addie, Alexandria & Alice Harlan; Nora, Evan & Henry Schumacher; his mother, Clita Moore of Monmouth, IL; his brothers Gene (Debbie) Moore; Larry (Sherry) Moore; and sister Connie Frakes, all of Monmouth, IL.

He is preceded in death by his father, Willard Moore, and his grandparents.

Memorial Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 10, 2024 at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, IL.  Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 9, 2024 at the funeral home.  Cremation rites have been accorded.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to Jamieson Center Food Pantry. McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.
