Galesburg Police Respond to Shooting Incident

On Saturday, August 17, 2024, at approximately 8:30 p.m., officers responded to 1435 Moshier Avenue in reference to a shooting incident.  Officers entered the residence and found Heath D. Williams, Sr. with multiple gunshot wounds. Officers provided life-saving measures and Williams was transported to the St. Mary Medical Center Emergency Room for treatment. Williams died at the hospital at approximately 11:30 p.m.

The Galesburg Police Department is currently investigating this case with the assistance of the Knox County Sheriff’s Office, Illinois State Police, and the Knox County State’s Attorney’s Office.  Anyone with information on this matter is asked to call the Galesburg Police Department at (309) 343-9151.
