Pamela S. Jern, 67, of Oquawka, IL, passed away at 10:06 a.m., Wednesday, August 21, 2024 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg, IL, surrounded by her family. 

She was born on February 1, 1957 in Monmouth, IL, the daughter of Clinton and Dorris Hope (Heath) Lyle.  Pam was raised and educated in Monmouth and graduated from Monmouth High School in 1975. 

Pam worked as a waitress at The Filling Station #3 in Monmouth for several years.  She later waitressed in Woodhull.  Most recently she worked at Walmart in Burlington and provided home health care.  Pam enjoyed craft shopping and going on the scenic drive.  She was an avid cat lover.  Pam was always willing to help anyone and never knew a stranger. 

Surviving Pam are her children, Corey Bjorling of Oneida, IL, Chris (Hillary) Rabe of Monmouth, IL; her son-in-law, Josh Bell of Chillicothe, IL; her grandchildren, Ali Hope Brown, Andrew Bell, Eric Bell, Clyde Rabe, Clinton Rabe, Colton Rabe; her sister-in-law, Diane Brown of Monmouth, IL; and one aunt, Linda Lee of Keithsburg, IL and several cousins. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Don Jern; one daughter, Carrie J. Bell and her brother, Randy Brown. 

As per Pam’s wishes, her body was donated to the University of Iowa Donor Program.  A Celebration of Life will be 4:00-6:00 p.m., Thursday, August 29, 2024 at the Monmouth American Legion (1110 North 11th St, Monmouth, IL).  Memorials can be made to the Pamela Jern Memorial Fund and can be sent to the funeral home.  McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.
