WWII Reenactment Begins on Oct. 18 in Macomb

The Western Illinois University History Department is hosting a live history exhibit focused on World War II on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 18-19, at Veterans Park and the Macomb campus.

The event will run from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. each day, with Friday’s event happening at Veterans Park and Saturday’s at the WIU campus mall.

WWII reenactors will educate visitors through live demonstrations of US, UK, Russian, German and Finnish encampments. There will be weapons demonstrations on Friday at 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. and uniform demonstrations on Saturday at 11 a.m. and 4 p.m.
