OSF HealthCare Holy Family Medical Center is hosting a “Save Your Soles” Lunch and Learn this Friday, October 25th from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm in the Wellness Classroom. Wound Care Clinic Director, Audra Baker, informs speakers will cover topics on maintaining proper foot health for diabetics:

“November is National Diabetes Awareness Month. So as a precursor to that, we really wanted to get out there to the public, so anyone with diabetes, somebody that has a family member of friend with diabetes, or maybe you care for someone who is a diabetic, it is really for that population. We just want to go out there and provide a diabetic friendly lunch and really talk about the basics of preventing diabetic foot ulcers and proper footwear and shoes, doing foot checks, and how to have good nutrition, how to really care for yourself when you are a diabetic, and how to be proactive in your care.”

The event is free and open to the public, but registration is required. Call 309-734-1408.
