Here’s the WMOI/WRAM Athletes of the Week for the week ending March 16, 2025:
The Monmouth-Roseville Titan Athlete of the Week is senior boys basketball player, Ethan Clark. Ethan was rewarded for a solid final year of basketball with a spot on the TRAC West Division All-conference team. He led the Titans in scoring at 10 points a game and 3-pointers made with 63. Those numbers were good enough to put Ethan on the West Division 2nd team.
The United Red Storm Athlete of the Week is sophomore boys track and field athlete, Parker Tinkham. After a solid freshman track season in 2024, Parker kept that momentum going into his second high school season with a win in the 15th Annual Lincoln Trail Conference Indoor Meet. He won the high jump event with a leap of just over 6 feet.
The West Central Heat Athlete of the Week is sophomore boys track and field athlete, Aidan Garner. Aidan had a fantastic finish in a loaded field at the 15th Annual Lincoln Trail Conference Indoor Meet at Knox College. He posted a long jump distance of 19.5 feet. That was good enough for Aidan to place 2nd out of 19 total jumpers.
The Galesburg Silver Streak Athlete of the Week is senior boys track and field athlete, Isaac Jasper. Isaac took part in three events at the Last Chance Indoor Meet in Sterling. He proceeded to pick up three top-3 medals. Individually, Jasper placed 3rd in the 60 meter hurdles and was part a winning 4×400 meter and runner up 4×200 meter teams.
The Abingdon-Avon Tornado Athlete of the Week is senior boys basketball player, Jacob Hall. Jacob’s final season of high school basketball ended with him being voted to the Lincoln Trail Conference All-Conference 1st team. He led the Tornadoes in scoring at just under 11 points and pulled down a team-high 6 rebounds a game. Jacob was also a menace on the defensive end, leading the club in steals and blocked shots.
