The Galesburg Legion Post 285 baseball season is underway. Post 285 currently sports a record of (6-2) through their first 8 games of the 2025 campaign. The team features a plethora of Monmouth-area players including Elijah Noel and Keegan Smith from Monmouth-Roseville and Tanner Rodgers, Lance Baker and Ian Leffer representing United.
Galesburg split a pair of games on Thursday night at home vs Rock Island, losing the first game 9-3 but coming back and grabbing a 5-4 win in the nightcap. Ian Leffler was 4-for-7 at the plate in the twinbill.
Next up for the Galesburg Post 285 is a trip to Omaha, Nebraska for the Battle of Omaha tournament starting on Monday. Head Coach Jeremy Kleine previews the tourney and the rest of the year for his squad.
