New Swimmers Invited to Waterbugs Pre-Swim Week

Share

The Warren County YMCA Waterbugs are hosting a pre-swim week for those interested in joining the team this next season. Swim Coach Ashlyn Quinn shares the details:

“We are doing it a little differently this year, we are just doing one week. We will not have any returning swimmers in the pool, so the pool and the coaches’ attention will be completely dedicated to our new swimmers that want to give swim team a shot. September 8th through the 12th we will be practicing from 6 to 7 pm. This is open for anyone between the ages of five and eighteen. Us coaches will be on deck and evaluating throughout the week. You can register at the YMCA. We do ask that if you want to try out that you can swim freestyle really well, you already know your rotary breathing, and that you can swim backstroke pretty well. Having some sort of knowledge of butterfly and breaststroke is really helpfully, and if you can dive off the side of the pool.”

The Waterbugs season begins that following Monday, September 15th with meets starting the first weekend in October.
