Friday night’s matchup between Monmouth-Roseville and Rockridge was about more than what happened on the football field.
The Titans helped raise money for Rockridge junior Drew Hawk, who suffered a severe spinal cord injury in a diving accident earlier this summer.
Head Coach Jeremy Adolphson says the Monmouth-Roseville community stepped up in a big way.
“We almost had $1,000 at the game donated, and then with the football program donation, we’re giving them a check for an even $1,500. I’m very, very happy and very thankful that people came together for that. I was counting up the money Friday night and there were tens and twenties and all kinds of stuff in there. Even if you give one dollar, that’s awesome. Everybody who helped out, that’s fantastic.
I’m glad we were able to do that.”
Monmouth-Roseville fell to Rockridge 56-8 on the field, but the Titans were able to help support Hawk and his family off of it. Adolphson says Rockridge was very appreciative of the support and the Titans continue to wish Drew the best in his recovery.
