The Monmouth College volleyball team wrapped up a busy weekend at Millikin with several strong performances against some tough competition.
The Scots went 1-2 over the weekend, battling Millikin in a four-set match before picking up a win over Ohio Northern and closing things out against Franklin.
Monmouth now sits at 3-8 on the season, with one of the biggest bright spots from the weekend coming from Kaylee Celus, who finished with more than 60 kills across the three matches.
Sports Information Director Nathan Baliva says Celus put together one of her best stretches of the season.
“We beat Ohio Northern in a good match down there. Kaylee Celus with 24 kills in that one. Overall on the weekend, some really good numbers throughout. We had a ton of aces in the Saturday matches and played really well. Kaylee Celus hit over .300 in two of those matches, and she was looking right over 60 kills for the weekend in those three matches. So a great weekend for her.”
The Scots will be back on the road Wednesday at Central College before returning home September 29th against Coe. Monmouth will then open Midwest Conference play October 2nd at Ripon.
