Monmouth Rotary Club Collecting Socks and Underwear for Jamieson’s Christmas Store

For the sixth year, the Monmouth Rotary Club has partnered with the Jamieson Community Center Christmas Store in helping make sure local children start the season with the basic essentials of socks and underwear. According to Vicki Hennenfent, the goal for 2026 is 3,000 total pairs:

“We are participating with the Jamieson Community Center Christmas Store, which they do annually, and we are collecting socks and underwear for that Christmas Store. This year we have set a goal of three pair of underwear and three pair of socks for each child, so that would be 1,500 pair of underwear and 1,500 pair of socks or $4,000. We want sizes zero to fourteen. We are hoping to have lots of happy feet and cozy seats by Christmas Day,” shares Hennenfent.

Rotary Member Ashlyn Quinn shares the three easy ways to give:

“If you know anyone in the Monmouth Rotary Club, you can certainly drop them cash or a check and we will take it to our next meeting and give it to the committee. We also have an online store. Jamieson is great and they have set up an Amazon Store, so if you are very familiar with Amazon and shopping online, it is a direct store, so shipping and everything can go directly to Jamieson,” Quinn says.

“Also, you will notice there are some boxes around the community. There is actually one downstairs at the Radio Station and we have one at the YMCA in Monmouth. So, you can take any unused, unopened, brand new packages of socks or underwear and drop them off at those locations,” adds Quinn.

The Monmouth Rotary Club will be accepting donations through December 4th.
