Western Illinois Home Health Care, Inc. of Monmouth is offering FREE Blood Pressure screenings. O.A.K.S. in Galesburg is on the location list.

Cost is 25 cents per card. They have a variety of prizes and refreshments and drink are available.

At the Galesburg Public Library, 40 E Simmons Street. Topics of discussion include: learn what is going on in Springfield, give your input, ask questions about state government. The event if free and open to the public.

No charge to play 4 cards, additional cards are 25 cents each. Persons attending are eligible for the twice monthly gift card drawing.

To be held in the Seminary Estates Activity Room, 550 E Carl Sandburg Drive in Galesburg

Monmouth area Community Care Days will be September 20th and 21st. Applications to have work done on your home are due September 1st. Applications are available at area churches, Jamieson Center, and Strom Center.

Swine weigh-in (4-6). Swine show at the Roseville Fairgrounds at 6pm.

Steer weigh-in (8-10am) at the Roseville Fairgrounds. Prime Beef run at 4:30. Parade at 5pm. Arm band night starting at 5pm ($22). Eternity Road in the Beer Tent (7pm).

Awards will be given at the Fairgrounds at 6:30. Fair runs through September 7th.

Beef show at 8:30am and is open to Warren and Henderson County participation. Arm Band Night 5-10pm ($22). Livestock auction at 6:30 at the Monmouth American Legion. Oval Derby at 7pm, $10 for general admission, kids 5 and under are free.

To be held at the First Christian Church, 301 N Broad Street. The program will be about "Christian Community Helping Neighbors." Each person is asked to bring a non-perishable food item for the food pantry. All area women are invited. For more information, call 342-2459.

Join the Galesburg Police Department for a Retirement Party to honor Chief David Christensen for 37 years of dedicated service to the Galesburg community. Public open house will be held at the Council Chambers in City Hall, 55 West Tompkins Street.
