Openings Available in West Central Head Start Programs in Monmouth and Abingdon

West Central Head Start serves children birth to three in their home-based Early Head Start program and children three to five years old in their center-based Head Start Preschool. Family Services Manager Lisa Medina-Foshay reports there are openings in both half-day and full-day programs in Warren County and Abingdon:

“We have some openings in our half-day program. We have a morning session and we have an afternoon session. Those include bussing, which is our door to door bussing for those individuals. Then we have our full-day program. Often times there is a wait list for that because most people want a full-day for their child. Even if you get put into a half-day program, I can put you on the wait list for the full-day program. In Abingdon we just have the one classroom and that is a full-day classroom with bussing, depending on where you live. We have had some kids that live really far out into the country and because of our regulations; our kids can only be on the bus for an hour maximum. If you live too far out and makes our route too long, we wouldn’t be able to provide bussing, but otherwise we will give you bussing in Abingdon as well.”

Applications into either program can be found online at https://www.wccsheadstart.org/ or by calling the Monmouth office at 309-734-3151.
