Stone Seed Sales Representative Josh Oaks Says Local Farm Ground in Need of Moisture Ahead of Spring Season

Share

With the wide variations of temperatures experienced during the winter months in the Midwest, local Stone Seed Sales Representative Josh Oaks explains just what that means for the area farmers and the need for moisture ahead of the spring planting season:

“With the artic freeze we had there around Christmas time, I would like to think we got some of that ground to freeze nice hard and solid there for a while, but I have talked to some other folks and at this time with this warmup, that frost is basically gone. It is good to have that freeze and thaw mixture with the soil and the ground, but right now we are in that thaw phase. For this area, we still need quite a bit of moisture in my opinion. We are still light on moisture and could use any sort of precipitation as far as I am concerned, rain or snow.”
