Despite The Major Time Commitment Warren County Senior Judging Team Draws Youth Back Year After Year

Joining the 4-H livestock judging team can be a major time commitment. However, those that dedicate the time, find it rewarding said Logan Corzatt from the Warren County Senior 4-H Livestock Judging team.

“I’ve been going every weekend since February, so that was eight weekends in a row. It’s a lot to handle, but it is really rewarding,” said Logan. “I get up every morning early and every Saturday I go to a judging contest.”

Even with the time commitment it takes to be on the team, members are drawn back year after year. For some members, such as Logan, it’s a contest he grew up around. For others, such as Tanner Klockenga, it’s a good way to gain knowledge in the industry.

“It’s good to stay competitive with it every year,” said Klockenga. “Also, as an evaluator, in the community of agriculture, I think it’s good because it gives you a better understanding of the animal industry.”

This summer the team will compete at the Warren County livestock judging contest before competing in the State 4-H Contest.
