Monmouth Fire Department Accepting Applications; Hosting Practice Agility Test June 3rd

Share

The Monmouth Fire Department is accepting applications through June 16th. Fire Chief Casey Rexroat explains the qualifications in becoming a firefighter:

“For this test, to apply you have to be at least 19 years old to apply. Now we can’t hire anybody until they are 21 years old, but we actually maintain their eligibility list for two years at the fire department. Then you need a high school diploma or GED and a valid drivers license. We use to require people to have an EMT license, but we actually dropped that requirement and we will train people on the job to be an EMT.”

A practice physical agility test will be held Saturday, June 3rd at the Monmouth Fire Station 1, 601 Industrial Park Road beginning at 10 am ahead of the actual test date on June 24th.
