State Sen. Neil Anderson (IL-47) and State Rep. Travis Weaver (IL-93) are excited to announce a joint legislative event on May 25 in Pekin following the adjournment of the 2023 Spring Legislative Session.

“Government can oftentimes be a convoluted process and as we come off the Spring session, this is a great way to learn about legislation that did or didn’t pass and how it impacts the lives of our constituents,” said Senator Anderson. “With the 47th District now comprising of 15 counties, it is my duty to make sure the residents of my district have their voices heard and this is a great opportunity to do so.”

The event gives residents of the 47th Senate District and 93rd House District an opportunity to speak with their elected officials, ask questions, and receive assistance on any state-related matters.

“Sen. Anderson and I came to Springfield to be fierce, transparent, and effective advocates for the residents of our Districts and Illinois, and we’re excited to bring those results back to the people,” said Rep. Weaver. “We encourage anyone and everyone to stop by, say hello, and ask questions or receive assistance from our offices. We look forward to seeing you there!”

The May 25th event will be located at Sunset Hills Golf Course & Eatery (Formerly Mashie’s Pub & Eatery) (1620 Summit Dr, Pekin, IL 61554), at 6pm, and refreshments will be served.

For more information or questions with the event, please contact Nicholas NWheeler@hrs.ilga.gov with Rep. Weaver’s office or Kaylee kezard@sgop.ilga.gov with Sen. Anderson’s office.
