Prior to the regular Board of Education meeting for the West Central School District on May 17th, a reorganization meeting was held to seat the three newly elected members, Lauren Chockley, Josh Higgins, and Karl Gullberg, plus Board officers were selected, Brendan Schaley will remain President, Dillan Vancil was elected Vice President and Mindy Clark will serve as Secretary. Additionally, looking into the summer and next school year, Superintendent Stacey Day reports facility projects are on the books:

“Really hoping that we can give our Board another year of just getting back in our groove and really look at curriculum and instruction. I think that is the reason we are all here and not focus on some of those outside areas. We have some facility projects coming up this summer, finishing up an HVAC project, so that will be a big one to hopefully get done and finished then start the school year off with air conditioning everywhere. Then I am hoping we can just keep moving forward. We are going to meet as a Board for a retreat in July to set some Board goals and see really what they also think we need to do moving forward.”

The West Central School District will hold their graduation ceremony for the Class of 2023 on Sunday, May 14th at 2 pm in the High School gymnasium.
