Marjorie Peterson Neff, 89, of Knoxville, passed away on Monday, June 12, 2023, 10:48 AM at the Knox County Nursing Home, Knoxville.

Marjorie was born on May 15, 1934 in Galesburg and lived her life in Knoxville. She married Dale D. Neff on November 25, 1955. Marjorie is survived by her daughters, Cynthia Neff (Doug) Williams of Oneida, IL, and Sharon Neff of Oviedo, Florida, grandchildren Jason (Becca) Petentler, Brittany (Jeff) Simmons, Kristen Williams, great grandchildren Mason and Nataleigh Petentler and Silas Simmons, sister Evelyn Johnson, sister-in-laws Donna Peterson, Mary “Kay” Peterson, and Ruby Neff, and many nieces, nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale, her brothers,Kenneth (Bud, Pete) Peterson, Robert “Bob” Peterson, and parents Kenneth (Hazel) Peterson.

Marjorie was the daughter of Kenneth and Hazel (Fox) Peterson. She was married to Dale Neff for 39 years. Marjorie was a 1953 graduate of Knoxville High School. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Knoxville. Marjorie worked at the Illinois Camera Shop in her early years and at PEO home and In Home in her later years. She enjoyed visiting many states on family trips. She loved all animals and loved driving around town, going to the Dollar Store, dancing at the Oaks, and socializing at McDonald’s. She loved meeting people, spending time with friends and family. A special thank you to Linda Nyman who did so much for her every time she visited. Thank you to Knox County Nursing Home.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A burial of cremated remains will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, June 17, 2023 at the Knoxville Cemetery. Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes and Crematory have been entrusted with the arrangements.
