The 2023 Henderson County Fair begins tonight, Tuesday, July 25th, at the Fairgrounds in Stronghurst with the horse show, leading into four action packed days. Wednesday starts off with the Farmer’s Breakfast, followed by the swine, sheep, and goat shows, and ending the evening with Family Night, sponsored by Country Financial Representatives Sally Waddell and Rachael Gipe:

“From 5 to 9 pm will be our big event, the Family Night. This year they will have bounce houses, they will have a tractor pull for the kids, the color war, which is a huge hit, and then we will have our, for the second year in a row, driver course for the young kids. We have little battery powered vehicles that each of the kids can choose from. We give them little sunglasses and then they can follow our little track, fill their little car up with gas, go through our little car wash, go across a little railroad crossing, and then of course we have to hit a McDonald’s for a little sucker. At the end this year, we are very excited, we are going to give them a little Driver’s License. They can put their face in our little Driver’s License cardboard cutout and put their name on there and have something official to make them feel like a big kid.”

Thursday at the Henderson County Fair brings the beef and bucket calf shows and Figure 8 Races in the grandstands. Friday features the tractor pull and live music. Then on Saturday, there will be a car cruise, mud volleyball, and Figure 8 Races to end the evening. A complete lineup of events can be found online at Schedule of Events – Henderson County Fair (hendersoncofair.com).
