Warren County Sheriff Edwards Says to Leave Downed Power Lines to the Professionals

Share

In the aftermath of a major storm event, Warren County Sheriff Martin Edwards reminds residents to be aware of hazards that are presented with downed power lines and to assume they are live:

“You have to assume those power lines are live. Don’t touch them. Don’t try to move them. I know it is difficult to wait, particularly when you have limbs down and you are trying to clean your yard up.”

If you come across a downed power line, stay as far away as you can and contact the power company and emergency services.
