750 students will arrive on the Monmouth College campus this August for the start of another academic year. Welcome Week begins August 19th with Fall Orientation, followed by First Inquiry and Identity Class for First-Year Students, and ScotStart Day before classes begin August 23rd. Associate Vice President of Communications and Marketing Duane Bonifer states which majors are the most popular among students:

“Business and Economics is one of the most popular majors at the college, it remains a very popular major. Psychology is very popular as well. Human Movement and Exercise Science, a lot of kids are interested in those careers as well. Then, what I call the pre-majors are also very popular; kids that want to do pre-law, pre-med, pre-occupational therapy, and things like that. Those students tend to break up into a couple of different majors, Biology, Chemistry, Neuroscience, Physics, Engineering. And of course Education Studies is also very popular, students that wan to be teachers either back home from where they came or they want to settle in this area.”

Bonifer also shares that over 60 percent of the student population on campus are involved in athletics.
