Share

Suffering from poor sleep can create a cascade of health issues. Join Tessa Hobbs-Curley, University of Illinois Extension Educator for an online course designed to help you get better sleep. This six-week, one-day-a-week course is free of charge and will begin August 14th at 10:00 am. Registration is required and may be done at go.illinois.edu/SLEEPEducationforEveryone2023.

This research-based course, originally designed by Michigan State University Extension, offers participants information and ways to improve their quality of sleep. Educator Tessa Hobbs-Curley says, “Participants each week will view a short video, hold discussions and then set personal goals using the techniques or concepts they have explored. I’m so excited to be able to bring this program to our area as I have seen the results this program can bring.”

The virtual weekly classes, which begin August 14th and run through September 25th (no class on September 4th) are a half an hour each week at 10:00am. Topics include:

· Introduction to sleep and health

· Sleep hygiene best practices.

· Stimulus control therapy to fall asleep faster.

· Mindfulness and relaxation to improve sleep.

· Relationships between sleep and physical activity.

· Sleep myths, review, and wrap-up.

Please register at go.illinois.edu/SLEEPEducationforEveryone2023 by August 7, 2023. For more information or if you need a reasonable accommodation in order to participate, please contact Tessa Hobbs-Curley at tessa@illinois.edu
