The Warren County Housing Authority offers information events for their residents, with the next being on fire prevention, in honor of Fire Prevention Week, October 8th through the 14th, shares Executive Director Hank Shimmin:

“Monmouth Fire Departments is great to work with every year. They come in and help us with our fire prevention training. We get a great turnout. We do sound the alarms, make sure they can hear it and make sure they understand procedures. We talk about different scenarios, what we do in case of an emergency, not only fire, but especially this time of the year, when it does get cold and people start using space heaters. Cooking is always a big concern. Reminding people to be safe when they are cooking and not leave items unattended. Like I said, what to do in the case of a fire, especially Oak Terrace and Costello Terrace, there is a lot of folks in a fairly small area, they have a lot of neighbors.”

Warren County Housing Authority offers income based housing units in Kirkwood, Roseville, and Monmouth.
